DisclaimerTriathlon is a dangerous sport and anyone participating in the event will do so entirely at their own risk and will not hold the organisers, sponsors or anyone else involved in or with the organisation of the event responsible for any accident, injury to self or others, loss or damage of property or any other incident related to the event. By entering 113events Triathlons, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions and you are agreeing to be personally responsible for all your own property and are declaring that you are fit for the event and are of suitable health and well being with no known medical conditions that could effect your ability to participate safely and without risk to self and other competitors. The run and cycle elements will be held on public footpaths and roads, so athletes should give due consideration to other users and must at all times follow the rules of the road and the Highway Code. All riders Bicycles must be road worthy and have two working brakes. During the cycle section all riders must wear a BTF Approved cycle helmet. Failure to do so will result in disqualification and removal from the event. The event organiser and refereeing official’s decision is final. The race organisers and officials, at their own discretion, retain the right to stop any athlete during any point of the event due to concerns over their own health or safety. This race will be organised and governed in accordance with the rules set out by the British Triathlon federation and is a Non drafting race.When racking a bike into transition, the athlete will be responsible for providing a bicycle in good working order and with two working brakes.
Athletes will also be asked to show the helmet they intend to race in is BTF approved and free from any damage.
From the minute the entry is received by the organisers, the event starts to incur costs in making this a great event for all. Unfortunately, we cannot simply refund 100% of entry costs when a participant can no longer compete. Therefore, If an entrant is no longer able to participate in the event, then the following withdrawal rules will apply;
Refund Rates for 2020 races;
Before 1st February 2020 – 60% Refund is available
Before 1st March 2020 – 40% Refund is available
Before 1st April 2020 – 25% Refund in the format of a Credit against future 113 events is available
After 1st April 2020 – No refund is available
Transfers of names / details are available up to April the 1st, but will incur a £20 administration charge.
When you sign up to the race, you will be offered a 3rd Party Insurance policy through bookingprotect.com, which for an optional 8% of your entry fee, can cover a refund of 100% if you cannot race (Full terms on the insurance are available during the sign up process)
If you choose not to take this, the above refund rates are what you will receive in the case that you do not wish to race
Deferrals and transfers
Deferrals are available within the same year only, and up to 6 weeks of the date of the race you are deferring from.
Transfers can only be made to an alternative earlier race if there are spaces available
Once a competitor has deferred to a later race, you will not then be able to claim a refund against the terms listed for the following year’s events, and the original year of entry withdrawal terms still apply (ie, if you defer to the next year, and then withdraw for the following year’s race, you will not get a refund, sorry)
Withdrawals must be made in writing to the race office and the date of the withdrawal will be effective at the date post marked.

Cancellation is extremely unlikely and the organisers will take all precautions to avoid it, but should cancellation occur for reasons out of the organisers control, then competitors will be notified at the time will receive a partial refund where available.
Should part of the course be unavailable for safety reason or reason out of the organisers control, then the organisers reserve the right to adjust the distances for each element of the triathlon or to cancel any element of the race.
The organiser also retains the right to change the race date for any reasons outside of their control
Confidentiality and usage of competitor details / Images
Prior to the event, 113 Events reserve the right to publish a full list of competitor names, clubs, sex and age-group. After the event, 113Events, and in co-operation with its timing partner, reserve the right to publish a list of times and results, and will include Position, Name, Club, Sex and Age-group and any details pertinent to a penalty. 113 Events and any of its media partners reserve the right to use any images taken of competitors before, during and after the race for use in publicity material and media publications. A photographic partner company will be employed on race day, and this company will retain the right to distribute any images captured during the event as it sees fit. With the exception of any declared medical conditions (which will be supplied to the event first aid and medical partners only), all other private data supplied in the entry form to the event and by participants in any other format will be used solely for the purpose of the event and will not be supplied to any parties outside of the 113 Events group or partnering companies on the event.
The information provided by the competitor in the ‘Tell us something about yourself’ on the entry form can be read out by the finish line announcer as you enter the finish chute, so please don’t include any information you don’t wish to share publicly
113 Events will email you with information in the run up the race, and with details on future races after the event. If you wish to unsubscribe for our mailing list, you can do so through the link at the footer of any mail
In additional to our usual health based requirements, we must insist that you must not attend the race under any circumstances if you are displaying, have displayed in the last 14 days, or have been in contact with anyone displaying the following symptoms* in the last 14 days:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
By attending the race, you are declaring that you are free from all of the symptoms listed above, have been free for 14 days prior to Sept 20th, and have not been in contact with any person displaying any of the above symptoms in the 14 days prior to Sept 20th
