The following email went out to all Cotswold Classic 2020 Competitors this morning
Cotswold Classic 2020 – Post race email
Good morning all
I hope everyone enjoyed racing with us yesterday, and aren’t either too sunburnt and can walk ok today ?
Firstly, and most importantly, thanks for being a great set of competitors.
It’s strange times right now in the world, and with all your help, I hope that we showed the world that Triathlon can restart again in a socially distanced format.
Despite this new format of racing being somewhat different to what we’re used to delivering, I truly hope that we gave everyone that raced yesterday just a small snippet of normality again after what’s been a pretty rubbish 6 months for the world, and that we’ve also paved the way for our sport to start to come back to life again.
We had lots of important eyes on us, and the standard of behaviour our team saw from you all was exceptional, and you should all give yourself a big pat on the back for portraying Triathlon in such a positive light. I’ve been involved in Triathlon for many years, and I’ve never seen drafting rules followed so well in any race, ever 😉
I appreciate we went belt and braces on various measures on the day, but we wanted team 113 to be able to deliver a totally safe race for everyone involved, and I really want to thank you all for being part of it.
Once they’re all uploaded in a couple of days, you’ll be able to find your photographs from yesterday here: https://www.charleswhittonphotography.com/group28112.html
You can see your results here (please ignore the incorrect age groups right now, and the timing guys will hopefully get them sorted today): https://dbmaxresults.co.uk/results.aspx?CId=16421&RId=308
Following on from yesterday, we’re having a team debrief tonight – We do this straight after the race, not just because it’s still fresh in everyone’s mind, but also because Dave typically has lost his voice so we get some peace and quiet for once !
I’d love to hear your feedback on the day please, and anything you think worked well or we can improve on for Sept 20th and for our races next year, and we’ll feed it back through the debrief tonight.
Your opinion is hugely important to us as although we try and cover and measure everything, you guys see bits of the race from a totally different perspective to us, and it’s you that we’re putting the race on for so we value your feedback more than anything.
If you could take 5 mins to email me, it’d certainly be appreciated both good and bad.
Online reviewing is super important in this day and age too, so if you are an online reviewer, we’d love to see you rate us here please : https://racecheck.com/races/cotswold-classic-middle-distance-triathlon/
Next year’s races are 99.9% fixed at June 6th and July 11th for the Cotswold113 and Cotswold Classic respectively, and entries will go live later in Sept once we have the rescheduled Cotswold 113 finished on Sept 20th
if you fancied being part of team 113 on Sept 20th, we’re still looking for lots more marshals and would love to have you along in Red on the day to get involved.
Anyway, that’s it for me for today, so thanks again for being a great bunch in these tough times, and please all be very proud of yourselves for showing Triathlon in such a positive light..
We’ll be down the lake all day today, and we do have a small amount of lost property in case anyone goes through a kitbag and finds something missing
Enjoy your recovery and we hope to see you all racing with us another time
