The following email went out to all Cotswold 113 2024 Competitors today
Cotswold113 Competitor newsletter #5
Good morning all, I hope everyone’s well and ready to come race with us in a week and a half ?
We’re getting ever closer to race day now, so this will be one of the last instalments of the pre race emails that I’m going to bore you with.
The good news is the Summer’s finally started to turn up, and the lake is now a tropical 20deg 🙂
If you missed our last newsletter a couple of weeks back, which has loads of info on the race, course info and a link to the race info pack, you can find that HERE
I’ll keep this one relatively short, so will cover the following
BTF race pass / membership
Start list with waves and numbers
BTF race pass / membership
As any of you that have raced in the UK this year already will have seen, the BTF have changed the way in which they do their ‘Day License’ for non members, and are now calling it a ‘Race Pass’
It’s fair to say they’ve had a few teething problems, but we have a system which we are happy will work next weekend now
In the next section of this email, you will find the start list.
Listed against everyone’s name, you will a BTF column which shows either an ‘M’ if you are a member, a ‘RP’ if you bought a race pass through the entry system, or a red highlighted blank if our records show neither of the above (in many cases, you input a BTF membership number, but your membership will/has lapsed before race date).
If you have either an M or RP against your name, all you will need to bring to register on race weekend is some form of Photo ID
If you have a blank red square against your name, we need to take one of the following courses of action :
1) If you are a BTF member, and have input your membership number slightly wrong, or have a different email registered with the BTF to the one you registered for the race with, all you need to bring to registration is either your valid Photocard membership, or a screenshot of your BTF active profile online and some photo ID (if you don’t have a pic uploaded to your BTF profile)
2) if you are not a BTF member, and need to buy a BTF race pass, you have two ways of doing this :
– You can buy a membership online in advance of the race through the BTF link – https://www.britishtriathlon.org/events/cotswold-113_15454
And will need to show your race pass purchase confirmation email at registration along with some photo ID
– We can sell you one on the day at registration for £8, and I’m afraid it has too be cash only as the signal at the lake is pretty crappy, and our card machine doesn’t work down there reliably
For photo Id, we’d need to see some form of official ID please, so passport, driving license, NHS or government ID etc. If you’re worried about bringing your id to the lake, a photocopy is totally fine too
For relay teams, all members of the team will need either a race pass or BTF membership please
It’s totally fine for one person to register for the whole team, but they’ll need photo ID (Again, a photocopy is fine) for the other members, and either proof of their BTF membership, race pass email confirmation, or £8 cash to buy a race pass please
If you’re unsure, please just give me a ring or drop me an email
Start list with waves and numbers
I received around 630 emails last week with requests for waves and numbers. I’m pretty confident that we’ve been able to sort at least 625 of those, and you can find the start list with waves and numbers listed against it, as well as the BTF info covered above in this email, at :
I’ve put it out as an Excel file, so you can filter as required and have listed it alphabetically. Relay teams are at the bottom of the sheet, and the waves and numbers column are self explanatory
The window is now completely closed as we’ve sent the printer orders off for bibs etc, but we do have some flexibility with waves, so if you wanted a different wave, please come and see me on race weekend, and I’ll see what I can do to squeeze people around
Right, that’s it for me for today
We’re here to help, so please just ask if you get any questions at all
The next email you will get from me will be mid next week with a link to the race briefing video and the final updates on conditions etc, so keep and eye out for that, and we’ll look forward to seeing you all in a week and a half
For those of you that are kindly bringing along a marshal, their final instructions email will be out towards the end of this week, or very early next week 🙂
Cheers and happy tapering
